Wining a new client

After a long tender, Schiffahrts-Kontor succeeded in wining a new client for the transport of 252 flexible bulk containers (FBC) with a volume of abt. 2.550 mt offshore concrete from Antwerp to Taichung / Taiwan.

The inquiry for this prospetive monthly shipments came from a freight forwarder from Mannheim. The special concrete, which is being used for the off-shore windpark „greater Changwa“ and the original customer is a subsidiary company of the BASF group.

The flexible bulk containers have been transshiped by barges from the hinterland to the Zuidnatie terminal in Antwerp. The first shipment was realized with MV „KLARA“ a vessel of the SAL Heavylift GmbH, Hamburg fleet.

Since then several further shipments could be booked with various ship owners.
